Tub vs Tank for a ball python?

i know lots of people use tubs for their snakes but i don't understand it. i prefer tanks. i can see the snake, watch her when she's eating. just walk by and look at her. she sits in my living room. i don't know if they really need a day/ night cycle but it doesn't hurt. just my opinion. if humidity is a worry just cover part of the lid with something. if you watch craigslist or something you can usually find cheap tanks when you upgrade, or you can build your own. i used an old record player in the cabinet, gutted it, got some plexigl, waterproofed it and i had a nice snake tank. old tv's in the wood box work well to.
