Are taxicabs in Nashville expensive?

I'm going there in Feb and want to know if I should rent a car; I will only be making short trips and want to know if the cabs are wayyyyy overpriced or reasonable. (I was in Dallas in October & found the cabs to be quite overpriced.) Any help?
